What does a Architectural designer actually do? As an architectural designer, I help in creating cool and imaginative drawings for buildings! Think of it like being an artist for buildings and spaces. I draw and design how they'll look, inside and out, making sure they're not just awsome but also safe and comfy. It's like crafting real-life dream homes for people to live, work, and play in!
What does a day in your life at work look like? Well, mostly drawing sketches- either hand sketch or computer programs to design and have a 3D imagination of the final building, and then pick materials to make them safe and cool. and we often work with a team to come up with a solution/decision and divide work :)
What's the best part of your job? I always liked drawing and creating stories- and what I do daily is creating places for future stories to happen
What made you realise construction could be for you? desire to create and see your impact
What do your friends and family think about working in construction? becoming an architect is not a quick path but is very rewarding and fascinating and thorough this time my family and friends have been very supportive and proud of my work and study - they are always asking question and advise :)
Who has inspired you in your career? My Dad mostly, he was a civil engineer, he took me with him to show me his projects some times :)
Do you have any advice for young women picking a career? I just mention what was most important to myself when I was in high school: "don't be afraid if your interests and passion is different with others- your path can be very different and that can makes you very special" and make a career out of your passion then you have more fun :)
