What does a Director of Recruitment actually do?
Run my recruitment business and recruit sales and marketing staff for the building and architecture markets

What does a day in your life at work look like?
Busy! Lots of phone calls with candidates and clients and lots of networking along with the usual admin in every role. Marketing and social media maintenance too!

What's the best part of your job?
Helping people be their best.

What made you realise construction could be for you?
I fell into the plumbing industry because it was the first graduate job I was offered and I found out I love it. I loved the plumbing merchants and the plumbers and comraderie.

What do your friends and family think about working in construction?
The Block and Selling Houses Australia is required viewing in our house. They love it like me.

What's something that surprised you about working in construction?
The number of women working in the industry today and the numbers keep growing. We ladies have made the construction industry a better place.

Tell us about your journey starting a family whilst working in construction.
I was able to work part time while my kids were young. The flexibility has been brilliant!
